Hello TJJ JSU Parents,
Today the Jewish people memorialize the destruction of our first and second Bies HaMikdash. We mourn the loss of the holy temples by fasting. Our staff and a couple of teens fasted today until sunset. Due to the fast, we refrained from any activity that would require needing too much energy and entail too much exposure to the sun. The day was filled with programming where we brought to life how a historical destruction can be relevant to us Jews today in 2023. Towards the end of the fast we headed to the kotel and joined with our brothers and sisters, and other TJJ buses and sang in one big circle. When the fast was over we had dinner and packed up for our next location in Jerusalem!
