Dear TJJ Southern Lion Parents:
The Jerusalem Journey has officially begun! After landing in Tel Aviv (I’m sure you’re jealous already), we had our first taste of Israel with holy bagels. Straight from the airport we enjoyed Ceasaria beach. “Don’t forget your hats and water!” Is already a slogan as we battle the Israel sun. From the beach, we traveled to the hotel to prep the teens with orientation and capped off the night with a surprise dance party! Friday the groups split – one group traveled to Tzfat and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and delicious schnitzel sandwiches, learned about the history of tzfat and spoke about Kabbalah and mysticism in Judaism. The second group kicked off their day with an unbelievable course in raft building, leading to a competitive race in the water between 3 teams. What a blast! As if that wasn’t enough, group 2 ventured off to a water hike known as the Madrese. Water fights obviously ensued, and everyone came back soaked! An incredible day for both groups! We are looking forward to bonding over Shabbat as we form new friendships with each other.
Wishing you and your family a Shabbat shalom!
