The Anne Samson Jerusalem Journey
Shabbat in the old city

Dear Parents,

Friday was a meaningful day as 2e visited Hevron, the burial site of our the matriarchs and patriarchs of the Jewish people are buried, and we also visited the grave of Rachel in Bethlehem, one of the matriarchs who is not buried in Hevron. Our tour guide told some incredible stories and made these sites relevant to the group.
Before shabbat, we went to the shuk in Jerusalem where we go to experience the pre-shabbat rush of people buying food in honor of shabbat. For dinner on Friday night, we went to the Kotel where over 4000 people were gathered from kabbalat shabbat. Shabbat was restful and quiet and we ended shabbat with some stories to get us in the mood for Tisha B’av.

Have a meaningful Tisha B’av and an easy fast.

Avi
