Greetings from the GOLAN!!!!

Last night we checked into the beautiful campus of Chispin in the Southern Golan! We started off our Golan stay with a crazy, wet and wild day!!!!

We began the morning with a team building exercise. We divided the group into several teams and had each team build a makeshift raft out of empty metal barrels, wood pallets and rope. Then each team had to race their raft in the Kinneret! Congratulations to our winning team, team 3!!! After lunch, we went for a relaxing water hike in the Majestic Majrase, Israel’s largest freshwater reserve. We learned all about Majrase’s famous “Water Tree”.

Our day continued as we traveled to Tiveryah, which we learned is one of the four holiest cities in the world!!! Upon arrival, we went straight to AquaKef, Israel’s largest inflatable water park on the Kinneret! After our fun in the sun, we dried off and visited the burial place of Rabbi Akiva in the hills of the city. Rabbi Akiva is one of the most famous Rabbis in all of Jewish history and continues to influence the Jewish world today.

We finished off this exciting monday with a party boat cruise on the Kineret and went out to dinner at the beautiful El Rancho’s restaurant off the boardwalk, also known as the Tayelet!
