Dear NCSY TJJ Lion Pride,
Greetings from the lowest place on Earth!!!!!
The Lion pride awoke in the Bedouin Nokdim Village and headed out to one of the most iconic locations in all of Israel, Masada! We learned about Masada’s origins and why it is a major symbol of Israeli resilience, all while beating the worst of the desert heat.
By the time we were ready to leave Masada everyone was melting! We went straight for the Dead Sea, the lowest elevation on planet earth, in order to cool off. Everyone had a great time floating and gathering minerals and mud. You could say we turned the Dead Sea into our very own lazy river!
On the way to our new location in Yad Binyamin, we stopped off at the home of Rabbi Uri Pilichowski, Southern NCSY’s director of Israel advocacy. We sat out on the porch of Rav Uri’s beautiful home in Mitzpe Yericho and learned all about Israel’s modern history and the current state of the Israeli/Arab conflict in Israel and the greater Middle East.
We hope to get a lot of rest for tomorrow, it is expected to be a heavy day as we visit Yad Vashem and Har Hertzel.
 Best,
Avi & Manu
