Dear Southern NCSY TJJ Lion Pride,
The summer is just around the corner and we are so excited!!
We want to make sure you are aware of our JFK airport arrangements for Sunday, July 9th. Our group flight is El Al flight #12, departing JFK airport at 2:30AM (technically Monday, July 10th). Please read the following carefully.
We will be meeting at 9:45PM at the Terminal 4 International Synagogue in JFK airport, (there are some flights landing after that time, don’t be alarmed, we will have a staff member waiting for them) which is in the back left corner of the terminal (fourth floor of the terminal) – Our program staff will be there to sign in your teen and distribute name tags. Please make sure you have your luggage and passport with you. We are flying using e-tickets, so all you need to check-in is your passport.NO ONE SHOULD GO THROUGH SECURITY BY THEMSELVES, we will be going through as a group.
Those parents dropping off teens by car, please do your best to arrive on time. If your teen is flying into JFK, we will have a member of NCSY staff meet them at the designated baggage claim for their flight into JFK. Again, those teens landing after 9:45 will have a staff member meet them at the baggage claim.
After checking in with the NCSY staff, you will go check in at the ELAL counter. Please return to the International Synagogue after checking in. Do not go through security on your own. We will proceed as a group through security together at approximately 11:30PM. Again, do not go through security without us.
We will be checking you in by bus number, and you are on TJJ Bus 1.
Please do your best to meet us at the Synagogue as close to 9:45PM as possible – the flight is sold out and even though we have pre-arranged group seating, we want to make sure that no one has any problems. We will have staff at the ticket counter to assist you as needed.
In case of emergency or if you are running late that day, please call 516-840-0714 or 917-334-0514.
A few important reminders: Please make sure you have your passport (and that it’s valid through February 2018) – you will not be able to board the flight without it.
Please adhere to the luggage restrictions – you are only allowed one checked piece of luggage and one carry-on bag. Each checked bag is allowed to be 50 pounds and dimensions must not exceed 62 inches (length plus width plus height per bag). El Al will charge you for overweight bags.
We are not responsible for overweight or lost luggage – please make sure to label your luggage.
Please send 1 copy of your teen’s passport to be carried with him/her at all times.
We look forward to greeting you on Sunday, July 9th and spending an unforgettable summer with you!
Please feel free to contact us if you require further information or assistance.
Best,
Avi Warman
