The Anne Samson Jerusalem Journey
A heavy but meaningful day

Hello TJJ JSU Parents,

Today we got to explore the past, present, and future of the Jews today. Starting with a thorough tour of Yad Vashem, our teens visited the comprehensive Holocaust museum and learned about the horrors of anti-Semitism. They gained a sense of the importance of remembering the Holocaust and educating ourselves and others about it to make sure the legacy of those who sacrificed their lives for their faith lives on. We continued cultivating Jewish pride with a visit to Mount Hertzl, Israel’s national cemetery which houses the final resting place of soldiers who lost their lives in battle, victims of terror attacks, and important goverment figures. The teens heard moving stories about those who sacrificed their lives for the State of Israel and left with a profound understanding of the importance of the country. We returned to our hotel and began our preparations for the Tisha Ba’av, the Jewish national day of mourning. Stay tuned.
