Dear NCSY TJJ Lion Pride,
On Tuesday our Lion Pride began the day enjoying a morning at an olive factory in Katzrin, up in the Galilee.
Learning about the olive oil history was fun, but it was only a taste of what was to come Tuesday afternoon!
From Katzrin we caught our breath at the kibbutz of Misgav Am where we learned about the security of the Lebanese border from a self proclaimed Zionist and “Jewish Redneck” Arieh Amit (originally from Cleveland, Ohio).
Our day was capped off with an amazing raft journey down the Jordan river! We had a blast trying to get everyone wet (I got pulled into the river four times). Once we were through splashing and swimming in the Jordan we enjoyed the calm cool water as we drifted down stream on a hot day. On our way back to the hotel we even got to make an unscheduled stop at the the local supermarket where we stalked up on our lion’s favorite food (candy, and lots of it).
