July 11 2016 Day 14

Today our bus was privileged enough to experience first hand one of the holiest places in the world. For some people it was their first time going to the Kotel, and others, like my self, were simply revisiting the place we’ve already had a connection with. The last time I went to the Kotel was for my Bat Mitzvah where I discovered the feeling of becoming a “Jewish Woman”. Now, going back to the wall three years later with this great group of new friends, I felt even more mature than ever before. The fact that I have been to the Kotel before gave me that sense of familiarity and comfort ability that was so empowering.
Before undergoing this amazing experience of reconnecting to my spiritual roots, we went inside the City of David and got the wonderful opportunity to see and walk through Chiskiyahu’s aqueducts. Cheskiyahu’s aqueducts, which are in the city of David, were built to bring water to Jerusalem while under siege 2,700 years ago. This was an incredibly thrilling experience being inside a dark narrow tunnel with extremely cold water that was flowing just under our knees. Being apart of this really made me rely on my group to help guide me safely through the cave. Through out all the experiences I had today I was able to relive and create new amazing memories and emotions. Thank you TJJ for a wonderful day and the best summer ever.
