The kotel. – Mozie Elmaleh

Today we took a magical journey to the Old City of Jerusalem. We woke up early this morning to daven at the Kotel Hamaravi. Walking up to the several thousand year old Kotel gave me chills. As i pulled out my note from my pocket and slipped perfectly into the crack in the wall that seemed as though it was made for me.  As my friends who had never been to the kotel before walked to the wall, i can see the awe and inspired looks in their faces. Especially Max Green, who had the look on his face as if he finally came home. I took out my tefillin that i have been putting on since my bar mitzvah, and watched as everyone around me did the same. I felt happy to be a part of Am Yisrael.
We then went to kotel tunnel tour and learned about the history of the Beit Hamikdash, which was extremely interesting. After the tour we went to go get lunch in the Rova, the Jewish quarter. The shwarma was one of the best I’ve tasted and it was absolutely exquisite, and free :). Next, we walked through the Chizkiahu Watter Tunnels which had a heck load of water and absolutely no light. Luckily G-d said, ” Let there be light”, so we had flashlights, which lead us to the end of the tunnel.
Finally we had a movie night related to the Holocaust to prepare us for tomorrows trip to the Holocaust museum, Yad Vahshem.
Overall, today’s experiences were unforgettable and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store.
Thank you, Good Morning/Goodnight
