I’m a survivor by GIllian Friedman and Vanessa Kulbak

Imagine hiking up a mountain full of gorgeous scenery and then ending off at a pool of refreshing clear water. That’s what we got to experience today. It all started when we woke up at 6 am. Yes, that is very early but it was for a good reason!

TJJ bus 1 conquered the Zavitan hike. We arrived on the scene at about 8:30 in the morning and that’s where the fun began. The hike started off at a slow pace, which was a good warmup for what was about to come next. After about an hour of straight walking the challenge began. We got to test our balance as we stepped on the rocks over water. We also got to climb over and duck under trees. Soon after that, we approached a mountain of rocks and made our way to the top. We were all relieved when we finally found the freshwater pool.

As fast as we could, we dropped our bags and took off our shoes. Before we knew it, we were all having a blast in the water. There was even a small cliff that the brave could jump off of. After a little more walking the heat got to us again so we got to take a second break. We experienced a breathtaking waterfall that we could go swimming in as well.

By the end of the day we were all exhausted but happy. After the hike we got to go to a small mall where we purchased lunch. Each of us got thirty shekel and we had the freedom to choose whatever we wanted to eat. We then got back on the bus where we headed back to Afik for dinner. After dinner we ended the amazing day telling stories and singing songs while sitting around a bonfire.
